Tips for Parents

Let's face it, being a parent is THE hardest job on the planet.  You are responsible for the safety, happiness, mental stability, educational success, etc of another person who did not come with instructions!  Do your child a favor and be a parent who sets rules and not just a friend.  Your child will always have friends, what they need is a parent. Having a healthy relationship with your child involves being consistent, keeping lines of communication open, and providing a structured environment where your child can thrive.  It is important to set limits with children and to enforce consequences to show them you love them and care about their well being. One of the best things you can do is learn about what is going on with your child and ways to assist them in times of need.  The more you know about your child, the greater chance of success he or she has for the future.  Here are a few web links that may be helpful to you now or in the future.
